چکیده

Nowadays, fibre optic sensors have been widely used to detect temperature, pressure, vibration and other physical properties. To design high performance optics sensors, sensing elements such as light propagation need be investigated for parameters absorbance, transmittance scattering. In this study, the backscattered is studied modelled using MATLAB based on Brillouin Rayleigh The scattering effects output power Stokes are clearly seen where both powers reduce with increase of length. in terms Coherent Noise broader source linewidth, higher spatial resolution lower group velocity produce less noise. fluctuation due noise can attributed temporal fluctuations optical pump or current. from research benefit experimental studies future.

Fiber-optic microsensors to measure backscattered light intensity in biofilms.

We have constructed tapered fiber-optic microsensors with a tip diameter of less than 10 microm to measure profiles of backscattered light in biofilms, which are thin layers of micro-organisms firmly attached to surfaces. The observed response agrees well with local effective diffusivity microelectrode measurements, with R(2) > 0.85. A strong relation between signal intensity and wavelength has...

Depolarization of backscattered linearly polarized light.

We formulate a quantitative description of backscattered linearly polarized light with an extended photon diffusion formalism taking explicitly into account the scattering anisotropy parameter g of the medium. From diffusing wave spectroscopy measurements, the characteristic depolarization length for linearly polarized light, lp , is deduced. We investigate the dependence of this length on the ...

Full Wave Modelling of Light Propagation and Reflection

The propagation and reflection of electromagnetic waves in a three-dimensional environment is simulated, and realistic images are produced using the resulting light distributions and reflectance functions. A finite difference time domain method is employed to advance the electric and magnetic fields in a scene. Surfaces containing wavelength scaled structures are created, the interaction of the...

Direct wavefront sensing in adaptive optical microscopy using backscattered light.

Adaptive optics has been used to compensate the detrimental effects of aberrations in a range of high-resolution microscopes. We investigate how backscattered laser illumination can be used as the source for direct wavefront sensing using a pinhole-filtered Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor. It is found that the sensor produces linear response to input aberrations for a given specimen. The gradie...

Octree Light Propagation Volumes

This paper presents a new method for representing Light Propagation Volumes using an octree data structure, and for allowing light from regular point light sources to be injected into them. The resulting technique uses full octrees with the help of a separate data structure for representing the octree structure. The octree structure enables light propagation to be performed at a lower resolutio...
